Laser Hair Removal
Gentle & Effective
Although laser hair removal is one of the most common cosmetic laser procedures in the U.S., various laser technologies exist. Differences in speed, energy intensity and added comfort features all impact the overall laser hair-removal experience, the ability to treat certain skin and hair types, and the total number of treatments needed to be hair-free.
We have the fastest and only “in-motion” Alexandrite laser, which means your treatments are comfortable, quick, and fewer are needed to achieve your smooth results. This revolutionary laser hair removal technology is also equipped with an integrated contact cooling system that further enhances your comfort.
COMMON QUESTIONS
How does laser hair removal work?
Laser hair removal works by producing a beam of high-intensity light that penetrates deep into your skin tissue. This laser light delivers a controlled amount of focused heat, which is attracted to the pigment contained inside the hair follicle, thus destroying it while leaving the surrounding skin unaffected.
What areas of the face and body can be treated with laser hair removal?
Nearly any area of the face and body can be treated with laser hair removal. This includes, but is not limited to, legs, buttocks, bikini, arms, underarms, chest, back, neck, chin, and ears.
Does laser hair removal work for everyone?
At Abelea medical Cosmetics, we can treat all skin types only because we offer specific lasers for our light and dark skin patients. Patients with lighter skin and darker hair typically require fewer sessions. People with darker skin may require more sessions for effective results to be achieved. Lasers do not see blond, red, gray, or white hair, so they cannot be removed with any laser. The reason for this is there is no melanin in the hair follicle and hence, no target for the laser.
How many laser hair removal treatments will I need?
Because laser hair removal targets hair follicles during the growth cycle, typically 6 to 8 treatments are needed to catch all of the follicles at the right time.
